Alex InstallFest: Here we come!
0
There is no denying that knowledge about open source is not very widespread among the general public in Egypt, but now newbies can get the chance to learn more about open source and its advantages at EGLUG' s first Alex InstallFest taking place on the 9th of March.
EGLUG is a community of Egyptian volunteers who believe in, and are committed to the propagation of, FOSS (Free Open Source Software) in Egypt. Their passion for FOSS in general, and GNU/Linux in particular, has led to the creation of the InstallFest event, which aims at introducing people to FOSS, its uses, why it's different, and why it's better (this is the sixth InstallFest organized by EGLUG - their first in Alexandria) . Throughout the day, volunteers will also be helping visitors in installing FOSS operating systems on their computers. The day will also be full of sessions, interactions and presentations and is open to all.
eSpace, having long been a supporter of FOSS, will be sponsoring the event and will also be available at a booth during the event to help support the FOSS spirit.
The event will be taking place from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on March the 9th at ITI Alexandria (1 Moahmoud Said St., Shohada Square, Main Post Office Building). Be sure to join us with your laptop or desktop, or even without!
